MEETINGS IN TAVUSH REGION SHCOOLS

 On October 1-20 of 2018, the Department of Professional Orientation and Practice of the Ijevan Branch Yerevan State University Foundation (YSU) held meetings with 31 students of general schools of Tavush Region (Ijevan, Berd and Noyemberyan).

The purpose of the meetings was to carry out professional orientation work in secondary schools, raise awareness of students about the branch 2019 academic year admission professions and educational programs.

During the meetings, the universitarians presented the history of YSU Ijevan branch, the main directions of its activity and faculties, the professions, the conditions and privileges of admission.

University Admission education programs of 2019 academic year, new offers and opportunities (referring to full-time learning system: “Environment and Nature Management”, “Applied Art” and “Psychology”), exam materials and changes in admission exams.

Particular attention was paid to the Russian Language and Literature curriculum, which will be implemented for the first time taking into consideration the labor market issues.

In order to maintain a constant contact between the branch and the region’s secondary schools, and to strengthen the school-university connection, it has been suggested to periodically organize visits, thematic lectures and discussions, and to take advantage of part-time learning opportunities. In the secondary schools of Berkaber and Gandzakar the department heads V.Avagyan and G. Simonyan made thematic discussions.

The meetings were in an interactive and engaging atmosphere. The students were interested in various issues related to educational process, tuition fees, tuition fees discounts and privileges for bordering community students, admission subject exams.

The representatives of the schools expressed their satisfaction and expected that the cooperation would be continuous.

THE VISIT OF KHASHTARAK SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS TO YSU IJEVAN BRANCH

On October 20 of 2018, students of 11th and 12th grades of Khashtarak secondary school accompanied by professional orientation trainer Armine Ghalachakhyan made a cognitive visit to YSU Ijevan branch.

The visit was carried out on the initiative of YSU IB Department of Professional Orientation and Internship supported by the branch directorate.

The purpose of the visit was to get professional orientation and get acquainted with the activities and specialties of YSU Ijevan branch.

Khashtarak School students visited all faculties of the branch, took part in some lessons, learned about the opportunities and perspectives of existing professions and received advice on the selection of professions.

The cognitive visit ended at the Faculty of Applied Arts where the students got acquainted with the unique works of the students and lecturers of the faculty.

The lecturers of the faculty conducted master classes for Khashtarak school students on Armenian cultural heritage.

YSU IB STUDENTS TO LEARN PRODUCT LABEL DESIGNING IN “COMPUTER GRAPHICS” COURSE

 In the first semester of the 2018-19 academic years, Martin Harutyunyan, acting head of the Department of “Decorative-Applied Art and Design” of Ijevan Branch of Yerevan State University Foundation, in corporation with the famous Belgian brand “L’Abbaye des Rocs” and “PolyBeer”, created a stylish ” Grand Cru ” beer labels.

“Grand Cru” breweries are exported to Canada in large quantities.

The cooperation between the company and Martin Harutyunyan continues and now the team is working on the unique design of wine labels.

Attaching importance to the development and spread of graphic design, product label designing has been included in the “Computer Graphics” course (educational modules) of the” Design” Department of YSU Ijevan Branch.

Within the framework of the course, the students of the Faculty of Applied Art will learn to design trademarks (labels) using computer graphics.

THE BEST STUDENT OF THE REPUBLIC -2018. COMPETITION FOR NOMINAL SCHOLARSHIPS

YSU Rectorate announces the launch of the first stage of the competition for nominal scholarships for high-performing students of the university.

Students of YSU from all faculties as well as master’s degree education programs or other subdivisions, who have been YSU students for at least 4 semesters, have high or excellent progress during the last two semesters (average grade point 16 and higher), as well as students who meet the criteria of August 29, 2013 Decree N 1005 of the Government of the Republic, “Nominal Scholarships of Students with Best Progress in Higher Educational Institutions of Armenia “.

The second-fourth-year students of full-time learning Bachelor’s program and Master’s degree students completed the first semester (except for one-year master’s program students) are eligible for the competition

The competition is held according to a separate bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in the following fields:

1) Natural sciences (including mathematical-information and communication technologies)

2) Medicine

3) Humanities

4) Social science

5) Engineering (including architectural / agricultural)

6) Armenian Studies.

The competition has three main criteria: academic progress (average grade point), the student’s capacity to perform research work (taking into account their participation in scientific conferences, seminars and printed works) and active participation in the student life.

All winning students will also receive money prize.

Awards are for both bachelor’s and master’s students.

The competition is held in two stages: the first stage will be in the universities, and the second republican stage will be held by the Ministry of Education and Science.

All YSU students, meeting the criteria of the competition (progress, scientific work, public participation, etc.), are invited to take part in the competition.

 To participate in the competition, you need to fill in the application form and attach the required documents.

“SPORT FOR EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES” CHESS SCHOOL COMPETITION ORGANIZED BY YSU IB AND “BRIDGE OF HOPE” NGO

On October 18 of 2018, at the school # 5 of Ijevan, a chess school competition entitled “Sport for Equal Opportunities” was held, organized by the Aygehovit volunteer group of the Ijevan branch of Yerevan State University Foundation and “Bridge of hope” NGO Child Development and Social Support Center.

Representatives of the administrative staff of the university, Acting Director A. V. Cuculyan were present at the chess school competition.

The participants of the competition were the first, third, fourth and fifth schools of Ijevan, as well as two pupils from Aygehovit, Azatamut, Getahovit, Gandzakar, Lusadzor secondary schools, from ten to thirteen years old age group.

The aim of the chess competition was to provide universal integration, put forward a guiding principle of equality: living together, learning together, to give a new stimulus to the development of children’s minds.

At the end of the competition, the students received letters of appreciation and encouraging gifts (books).
