YSUIB STUDENTS MAKE STUDY VISITS WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE INTERNSHIP

  On May 6th, 2019, within the framework of internship of 2018-2019 academic year, II-year students of “History” of YSUIB made study visits headed by internship supervisor, lecturer of the Department of Armenian History and Social Sciences A. Mkrtumyan.

  Assistant professor, Head of the Department of Professional Orientation and Practice, PhD L. Beginyan, Educational Program Responsible of “History”, PhD., Associate Professor N. Grigoryan, Assistant of Tourism Management and Culturology Department P. Asilbekyan took a part in the internship.

 On May 6 they visited Lori Region, Odzun Temple, Haghpat Church and Sanahin Monastery, Akhtala Monastery and Fortress.

 During the study visits, the students got acquainted with the above-mentioned historical and cultural sites, its construction and operation history, architectural peculiarities, as well as the students themselves delivered lectures.

 The visits gave a special opportunity not only to expand their knowledge about historical and cultural sites, but also to strengthen their knowledge of the history of Armenia of the 10th-13th centuries.

On May 3, 2019, YSU IJEVAN BRANCH hosted the regular Board Meeting, headed by YSUIB Acting Director A. V. Tsutsulyan.

On the agenda were the results of the first mid-term examinations of 2018-2019 academic year second semester, and the reports of the deans of the faculties.

 Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, in particular, mentioned that on April 8-13,2019 200 students took a part in the first mid-term examinations and (74 fourth-year students passed the final exams).  The average point of the mid-term examinations is 3.10 (3.88, among the students enrolled in a free education system), the average point of checks is 6.63 (8.65, among students enrolled in a free education system).

 Acting Dean of the Faculty of Economics mentioned that 74 students (“Finance”, “Economics”, 49 students, “Tourism”, “Service”, 25 students) took a part in the mid-term examinations  and 33 students of the fourth year passed the final exams.  The average of the mid-term examinations is 2.68 (3.77, among the students enrolled in a free education system), the average point of checks is 5.92 (7.83, among the students enrolled in a free education system).

 46 students of the Faculty of Applied Arts took a part in the mid-term examinations and tests and 16 students of the fourth year passed final exams.  Overall progress in the faculty made 90.3% (an increase of about 8% compared to last year).  Heads of Departments also participated in the assessment process.

Based on the results of the examinations in the Faculty of Natural Sciences, the following comparisons of this and previous year’s progress have been recorded:

At the Board meeting, the results of the first mid-term and examinations of 2018-2019 academic year, second semester, were evaluated satisfactory.

 The other item of discussion was the attendance of students during 2018-19 academic year, second semester(11.02.2019-03.04.2019) and several current issues on which the reports were taken into consideration.

INTELLECTUAL GAME HELD IN COLLABORATION WITH YSUIB, IJEVAN BRANCH OF “BRIDGE OF HOPE” NGO AND AYGEHOVIT COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT VOLUNTEER GROUP

On May 3th, 2019, the Branch hosted IQ Intellectual Game in collaboration with Ijevan Branch of YSU, Ijevan Branch of “Bridge of Hope” NGO of Ijevan Branch, Aygehovit Community Development Volunteer Group.

 5 teams from Azatamut, Sevkar, Nerqin Tsaghkavan schools, Bridge of Hope NGO students took a part in the intellectual game.

 The intellectual game was conducted by Karine  Tamrazyan, the head of “Impact” youth club of the Aygehovit community, and club senior member Ashot A. Amirjanyan.

Margarit Tamrazyan, third-year student of “History” specialty, a 5th-year student of the specialty “Pedagogy and Psychology”, (Part-time training) Tigran  Parsadanyan, 2nd-year student of “Foreign Language and Literature” specialty Ani Martirosyan, 1st- year student of “History” specialty Arpine Martirosyan, “History”  first-year student Nune Kocharyan, second- year student of “Informatics and Applied Mathematics” Arayik Shahnazaryan were the members of Jury.

 The game took place in 3 rounds. It included questions checking students’ background knowledge and logic.

 After a persistent competition, the game ended with the victory of students of Aygestan Secondary School after Artashes Vasilyan.

 The winner was awarded with an encouraging gift and a diploma.

INVITATION TO TAKE A PART IN A TRAINING COURSE ON “EDUCATIONAL RESEARCH IN HIGHER EDUCATION SYSTEM”

  On May 10th, at 14:00, and on May 11th, at 10:00, in N 39 classroom of YSU Ijevan Branch of the Faculty of Economics, a training course entitled  “Educational Research in Higher Education System” will be conducted by Marina Galstyan, founder of  the Center for Educational Research and  Consulting, who has more than 10 years of experience in developing and implementing educational research.  She has been involved in the EUROSTUDENT V 2012-2015, Social and Economic Conditions in Student Life in Europe as a research team member and analyst.  She is a member of the European Network of Youth Researchers since 2017.

 The training course aims to provide participants with basic knowledge on educational research, as well as formulate practical skills in research, intended for representatives of the administrative, professorial and quality assurance staff.

 The training course consists of 2 modules

 Module I. / Educational Research Concept

 Module II. / Educational Research in Practice

 At the end of the training, the participants will

  • get knowledge about the purpose and objectives of the educational research;
  • get knowledge about different approaches and methodologies of educational research,
  • get knowledge on the stages of educational research, including planning, implementation, quality control, and ethical principles in research,
  • be able to plan and implement educational research through professional support.

 After the training, participants will receive professional advice during practical work.
