THE DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH LANGUAG AND LITERATURE ORGANIZED AN EVENT DEDICATED TO St. VALENTINE’S DAY

On February 23, 2019, at the Faculty of Humanities of YSU Ijevan Branch, the Department of English language and Literature organized an event dedicated to St. Valentine’s and St. Sargis days.

The event was attended by the representatives of professorial staff of the Faculty of Humanities, 2nd-year students of “Foreign Language and Literature” specialty.

The language of the event was not only English, but also French and Russian.

The festive event featured the origin, history, traditions, customs and symbols of St. Valentine and St. Sargis.

The students also performed love songs and poems, exchanged gifts.

At the end of the event, the Acting Head of English Language and Literature Department, PhD, Associate Professor K. Harutyunyan, Acting Head of French Language and Literature Department, assistant A. Mardanyan delivered speeches. In their speech, they stressed that the event was in a happy and pleasant atmosphere, and wished the students always love and be loved.

US-Armenia Research Collaboration Grant

unnamed Good news for all young scientists who want to progress their ongoing research projects with the US counterpart universities.

ISTC is extending the deadline for the US-Armenia Collaboration Grant Program supported by Enterprise Incubator Foundation (EIF) and USAID Armenia.

The purpose of the program is to implement funding for research teams to exchange their experiences and collaborate with US Research institutions. The goal is to bring joint research projects to Armenia.

The deadline for the applications is 31 of March, so hurry up not to miss this great opportunity.

CONFERENCE ON “DIALECTICAL READINGS” TO BE HELD AT YSU IJEVAN BRANCH

On March 2, 2019, YSU Ijevan Branch Faculty of Humanities will host a conference entitled “Dialectical Readings” organized by Student Scientific Society of YSU Armenian Philology Department together with Armenian Language and Literature Department of YSU Ijevan Branch.

The conference is scheduled to be held in two stages. The 1st stage of the competition was held in the form of online application (the application deadline: February 15), the best 10 applicants have been selected. In the second stage, the 10 selected participants should translate the texts given in their dialect, showing the dialectical peculiarities.

On March 2, the participants will perform their translated texts during the “Dialectical Readings” conference at YSU Ijevan Branch.
