THIRD-YEAR STUDENTS OF “ECONOMICS” SPECIALTY VISITED DILIJAN CBA RESEARCH AND TRAINING CENTER

 On December 17th, 2018, within the framework of “Microeconomics” course, 3rd- year students of YSUIB Faculty of “Economics”, made a cognitive visit to Dilijan  Research and Training Center of the Central Bank of Armenia.

The students first visited the Museum of  Research and Training Center, got acquainted with the coins, statues of Alexander the Great, Artashesians, Cilicia, Armenian and other kingdoms, as well as 2018 issued third-generation banknotes.

The third-year students also participated in a lecture with interesting statistical materials, during which, they touched upon the CBA policy, paradigm change after the 2008 crisis and macro-prudential policy

At  Academic Council Session, the director’s report on YSUIB activities of 2017-2018 academic year, and the activities of YSUIB of 2017-18, were evaluated as satisfactory.

The results of  bachelor’s degree admission of 2018  and the results of the survey of external stakeholders’ opinions on YSUIB interns (2017-2018 academic year) were taken into consideration.

Taking into account that the pedagogical activitites of candidates of philological sciences, H. Vanyan, K. Poghosyan, A. Sarhatyan, L.Tumanyan G. Avetisyan, PhD, lecturer of the Department of General Economics, are fully in line with the Government Decree of 2001, 2nd issue of the Decision N 615 “Awarding the title of associate professor” of the Republic of Armenia” as well as other normative documents on this issue, guided by subparagraph 16 of the point 21 of the regulation of Ijevan Branch of Yerevan State University and by the sub-point 16 of the Academic Council Regulation of  Ijevan Branch of  Yerevan State University,YSUIB Academic Council decided:

  • Ensure for awarding the title of associate professor to the candidates of philological sciences, H. Vanyan, K. Poghosyan, A. Sarhatyan, L.Tumanyan Avetisyan, PhD, lecturer of the Department of General Economics

Apply to YSU Academic Council, for awarding the title of Associate Professor to the Candidates of Philological Sciences H. Vanyan, A. Sarhatyan, L. Tumanyan, K. Poghosyan and Associate Professor of the Department of General Economics of YSUIB, apply to the RA  Higher Qualification Commission with appropriate proposal.

At Academic Council Session, it was decided to present YSUIB project of structural changes for YSU Rector A. H. Simonyan’s approval.

AN EVENT DEDICATED TO NEW YEAR AND CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS AT YSU IJEVAN BRANCH

 On December 15th,2018, YSU Ijevan branch hosted a literary and musical event dedicated to the New Year and Christmas holidays (in English) organized by the Department of the English Language and Literature (at the initiative of acting head of the Department, PhD, Associate Professor K. Harutyunyan and Assistant of the Department ,PhD, A. Karapetyan).

The 1st year students of the specialty “Foreign language and literature”, fourth- year students of “French language and literature” participated in the New Year event.

During the event, the New Year and Christmas traditions, customs, symbols, holiday clothes, cuisine of a number of countries (Great Britain, USA, France, Italy, China) were presented.

The participants presented Christmas stories, songs, fairy tales and poems.

The students performed songs not only in English, but also French and even Chinese. During the event, students exchanged New Year individual wishes.

At the end of the event, the students played a Christmas game, “Secret Santa”, during which they exchanged gifts.

 New Year is the beginning of new decisions and goals, and all students have decided to be more motivated and hard-working to become good professionals.

SECOND AND THIRD-YEAR STUDENTS OF “ARMENIAN LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE” VISITED LUSADZOR PRIMARY SCHOOL

 On December 14th, 2018, 2nd and 3rd year students of  the Faculty of Humanities, “Armenian Language and Literature” specialty, at the initiative of acting Head of the Department of Armenian Language and Literature V. Avagyan visited the primary school of Lusadzor village. The school director Armen Sardaryan and teachers warmly welcomed the guests.

The purpose of the visit was to organize an event dedicated to the founder of the village and the history of the great tribes of the village, the Yeghanyan, Sardaryan and Ayvazyan.

Shushan in her report, presented one of the influential people of the village, Elizbar Sardaryan, the students presented her poems and her famous poem “33 did not come back”.

The reports were interrupted by recitation and songs.

The school students also performed a recitation.

Guests and representatives of the above-mentioned tribes also made a performance.

The acting Head of the Department of Armenian Language and Literature, Associate Professor, PhD, V. Avagyan and vice-dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Associate Professor, PhD, V. Aghababyan made the final speech.

In response, the school director and guests thanked them, organizing a small reception.

Due to such meetings, the school-university bilateral cooperation is expanding and deepening.

A SEMINAR ON “BUSINESS SKILLS” TOOK PLACE AT YSU IJEVAN BRANCH

On December 13th and 14th,2018,at YSUIB event-hall, a 2-day seminar on “Business Skills” was held, implemented by IAB International Academy of Business, within the framework of the three-year  “Youth Empowered” program of  “Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company Armenia”.

The seminar was attended by more than 60 young people from Tavush region, including YSUIB students and graduates.

The seminar was conducted by YSUIB staff, namely, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Associate Professor of the Department of General Economics, Ph.D. Gayane Avetisyan, Assistant of the same Department Anzhela Aleksanyan, lecturers Hripsime Hayrapetyan, Arpine Yeganyan and Marietta Atabekyan, lecturer of the Department of General Mathematics and Natural Sciences Slavik Alaverdyan.

Slavik Alaverdyan made an opening speech. He thanked Erine Gharayan, coordinator of the work with graduates and External stakeholders, for the participants’ registration, presented “Youth Empowered” three-year program, the activity of IAB International Academy of Business, the modules and trainers of “Business Skills” seminar.

The seminar was accompanied by theoretical materials, questions and discussions, tests and individual assignments and group work.

The agenda of the first day was the Project Management, Time Management and Negotiations. The participants got acquainted with project specificities and restrictions, lifestyle and management processes, WBS, Gantt charts, principles of timely use, the Eisenhower matrix, time management tool, negotiation types and stages. The participants presented the structure of the New Year event program for their organization and completed the Eisenhower matrix.

During the second stage of the seminar, the achievements of the first day were discussed, followed by “Financial Management”, “Business Plan’, and “Sales Skills” Modules. The market and the internal market, the organization’s economic cycle, key accounting concepts, financial outcomes assessment, financial functions, SMART format of business purposes, business plan structure, product, motivation of customers, and the role of competitors were presented. The groups created new products using the given objects and presented their peculiarities and competitive advantages.

Acting Director of YSUIB Artak Tsutsulyan also visited the hall during the seminar.

At the end of the seminar, the trainers thanked the young for their participation and advised them to study the provided guidelines and follow the project activities to present business ideas in the future.

The same seminar will be held for another group of young people of Tavush region in 2019, at the end of January.
